Long Tall Lyons

Jeff and I are medium-sized people, but we seem to be growing some long, tall babies. Oona just had her four-month appointment, and she measured 27.4 inches long — that’s the 99.9th percentile. If you had 1,000 babies, she would be the very longest, according to growth charts.

Of course, I’m glad I have only one baby and one little girl since they are as much fun as 1,000 ordinary kids. Oona is having a ball these days playing with her feet, sitting propped up, and rolling from back to front. Juliette has been enjoying jumping in the ocean, splashing in the pool with her kickboard, and going on walks with her dad and Winslow. Neither one of them has particularly enjoyed recent drives to Belmar, the Elmwood Park Zoo, or Absecon Marriott Seaview to celebrate Grandma Nan’s birthday, but they both greatly appreciated the destinations, if not the journey.  At last I know two individuals who hate traffic as much as Jeff does.
